About the Position:

Milestone is looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to work as part of our internal Accounting team. This is a hybrid, part-time position, averaging 15 hours per week. This position will be primarily remote, with occasional meetings in our Carmel office.


  • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions
  • Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts on a monthly basis
  • Prepare recurring and complex journal entries
  • Own the first pass of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Process updates of monthly reporting and identify potential discussion items or areas requiring additional review
  • Prepare financial statements and cash flow forecasts as needed
  • Review and update specific Process & Procedure documents on a regular basis
  • Review and implement process improvements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Advanced knowledge of QBO and experience with cloud-based accounting software and tools preferred
  • Passionate about technology and able to learn new software quickly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills, with strong attention to detail
